HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATE - OPTION 2

Job Responsibilities
1. Performs personnel functions, including the completion of paraprofessional human resources assignments and reports using personnel databases.
2. Serves as timekeeping assistant for OSFM.
3. Coordinates with divisions on required uniform and equipment distribution.
4. Assist with agency Special Projects and events.
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completions of two (2) years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
2. Requires the ability to keyboard at 30 wpm.

BOILER SAFETY SPECIALIST – COOK COUNTY

Job Responsibilities
1. Inspects all boilers and unfired pressure vessels in a designated territory of the state which are under the jurisdiction of the Boiler Safety Act as to their construction, installation and condition for operation.
2. Calculates maximum allowable working pressures of boilers and pressure vessels using design formulas from the American Society of Mechanical Engineer's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code after determining existing conditions of the object.
3. Conducts shop inspections of boilers and unfired pressure vessels in the process of manufacture observing fit-up, welding and material content for compliance with specifications for construction and fabrication set forth by the American Society of Mechanical Engineer's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the Illinois Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act.
4. Completes and submits inspection reports to the Office of the State Fire Marshal for processing of all in-service inspections conducted daily, while maintaining copies for their own future reference.
5. Reviews and accepts Welding Procedures Specifications Procedure Qualification Records and Performance Qualification Records by comparing criteria set forth in the ASME Code, Section IX, "Welding and Brazing Qualifications".
6. Contacts owners and users of boilers and pressure vessels and repair firms to disseminate information regarding requirements for construction, installation, operation and repair of boiler and unfired pressure vessels.
7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Requirements
1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
2. Requires five (5) years of practical experience in the construction, maintenance, repair or operation of high-pressure boilers as a mechanical engineer, operating engineer, or boilermaker. A mechanical engineering degree from a recognized college of engineering may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
