FairTaxAt a rally in Springfield, Senator Patricia Van Pelt (D- Chicago) voices her belief that to protect Illinois families, citizens and their representatives need to support and fight for Fair Tax legislation. The senator urges citizens to become civically involved by knocking on doors and engaging their senators and representatives.
The rally took place to fight for a progressive tax that would provide a higher tax rate for higher incomes and a lower rate for lower incomes. Under the rates proposed by the A Better Illinois campaign, those making under $200,000 annually would receive tax relief.
