“College was hard enough to pay for before the financial realities of the virus set in,” Van Pelt said. “Now more than ever, aspiring college students could benefit from a scholarship like this.”

Over the years, the ILBCF Scholarship has helped many low-income students to be able to afford college-related expenses.

Students who live in Illinois are encouraged to apply by Thursday, June 4. If awarded the scholarship, they will receive $1,000.

“I know that the future looks very uncertain right now,” Van Pelt said. “But that doesn’t mean we should stop planning for it. There is still a world for these young people to go out and conquer. They may need a little assistance to do so.”

Students who want to apply for the ILBCF Scholarship can complete the application here.
