As a community, working together to move beyond the impact of COVID-19 is important. ComEd understands that some customers and small businesses may need help paying their electric bills. That’s why they are offering additional assistance opportunities for eligible customers, as part of their ongoing effort to ensure safe, reliable and affordable energy.

• Eligible customers may be able to spread out balances over 18 months, with 0% down, and be exempt from disconnection through June 30, 2021. All other residential customers with balances are eligible for an 18-month, 10% down payment plan. ComEd’s CARE program offers grants to eligible customers in need, including veterans, active military, and nonprofit organizations, until funds are exhausted.

• Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funds are available to households in need, but the deadline to apply is May 31, 2021. For information on how to apply, call the LIHEAP Hotline at 877-411-WARM (9276) or visit HelpIllinoisFamilies.com.

• Eligible businesses can take advantage of the Small Business Assistance program and receive a grant up to $1,000 towards a past-due balance, once every 12 months. Enrolled businesses may also place a remaining balance into a payment plan of up to 6 months. Details available at ComEd.com/SmallBizAssistance.
